The negative affects from the crème include drying of the skin and a harshness that can lead to wrinkles and rough skin.

Astringents and Cleansing Pads

Designed to be a quick way to dry oil from the skin, astringents can keep skin dryer in order to avoid the oil being trapped within the sebum glands. However, the negative aspect of astringents and cleaning pads is that they will be extremely harsh on dry skin.

Oral Medications

There are a number of prescription medications that have proven quite effective for the battle against acne. By working chemically to balance the amount of oil the body secretes and by fighting against existing infections, the medication can be helpful in serious acne cases. The negative aspect is that the medications can become less effective over time and can make a person become more intolerant to the effects of antibiotics.

While there are many different acne skin care products, and a new acne treatment seems to come along each day, they are generally all based on the above mentioned ingredients or chemicals.
