Climbers and Creepers

One Climber that produces flowers nearly all over the year is Allamanda. It grows bright yellow trumpet flowers and climbs up fast along walls or other trees standing close by. To cultivate Allamanda cut the branches periodically and position the plant in a sunny place with rich soil. Check regularly for mites which will disfigure the leaves. A gorgeous pleasure is the Bougainvillea that we have on our island of Bali in many shades of colour from white, orange, purple red to blue violet. It is very common to have even two different colours growing on one plant. The Bougainvillea needs well-drained and fertile soil and a long dry period to develop and dry the leaves to their amazing colour. Planted in a very fertile location and with good care this plant can grow to a huge colourful tree.
